What is a mom prom?
We wrote an article that describes the Central Florida Mom Prom. The quick version is Mom Proms began in 2006 in Canton, MI as a ladies night out for charity in which women wear their old prom gowns, bridesmaids dresses, or wedding gowns. This is a wonderful, hilarious night in which women can dance the night away, have fun with friends, and help a worthy cause.
What time does everything happen at mom prom?
Here is a list of this year’s schedule of events – check it out!
I’m not a mom, can I still go?
Absolutely! Anyone can attend, as long as you are a lady over the age of 18. We wrote a post about this too.
What is the dress code?
Whatever you feel beautiful in. This is an opportunity to give those dance/prom/wedding dresses another spin around the dance floor. Please don’t feel obliged to buy something new; rock your favorite dress or t-shirt & jean combo if that is what makes you feel awesome.
What does my ticket include?
Your ticket to the event includes one raffle ticket, non-alcoholic drinks, appetizers and desserts. Additional raffle tickets and alcoholic beverages will be available for sale; Mom Prom accepts cash or credit cards.
Should I bring money?
Yes. There will be a cash bar available for alcoholic beverages, awesome prize raffles, silent auctions, and a raffle to be crowned Prom Queen; Mom Prom accepts cash or credit cards.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
If the event has not reached capacity, tickets will be available for purchase at the door by cash or credit for $55.
If I cannot attend the event, can I return my ticket?
Due to the nature of this event, no refunds are available for tickets once they are purchased. Not able to make it to Mom Prom? Ask us about donating your ticket to a mom in need or transferring ownership.
What is the occasion?
What is International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN)?
This event benefits the local chapter of ICAN; ICAN of Central Florida. The International Cesarean Awareness Network, Inc. (ICAN) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve maternal-child health by preventing unnecessary cesareans through education, providing support for cesarean recovery, and promoting vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC).
Is there a discounted room rate?
Yes, please call the Holiday Inn – UCF at 407-658-9008 and ask for a room under the Mom Prom block.
Will there be food & drinks available after the event this year?
Yes! Based on the many requests we had last year, the hotel bar and grill will remain open late for those who want to grab a bite to eat after the event. We have negotiated a limited menu available for purchase with the hotel. We have attempted to accommodate as many diets and preferences as possible in the process.
Who is invited?
Anyone who identifies as a lady and is legally 18+ can join us to boogie down.
Why not invite men or kids?
This event is to give women an opportunity to cut loose. We will have a block of discounted room rates for Mom Prom, so your partner and offspring can hang out in the room while you dance your tail off!
Can I bring my infant, nursing baby?
Yes! In fact, we have a nursing/chill out lounge designed to accommodate you. It isn’t shrouded in silence, but it does offer you and your newbie a place to decompress for a bit. If your nursling is crawling it might suit you best to book a hotel room. And moms, while we LOVE extended breastfeeding, we want this to be a grown up event, so please leave nursing toddlers and all kids at home or upstairs in a room. Thanks for understanding.
How can I help, this sounds awesome?
Glad you asked! We need help before, during, and after the event. Our volunteer coordinator will be so excited to hear from you, send her a message through this volunteer page.
My business would like to be a part of this event, how can I help?
